Flexible complete system for spray painting
The Scandinavian premium kitchen manufacturer Kvänum Kök AB relies on the spray painting solution from the mechanical engineering company Venjakob. A perfectly harmonised combination of existing and new machines has turned the automated coating lines into a powerful and flexible overall system.
The traditional furniture manufacturer Kvänum Kök from the municipality of Kvänum in West Gotland has already won numerous international design awards for its exclusive kitchens. The surface treatment of the types of wood used plays a significant role in the great variety on offer here. To ensure that the industrial finishing process at Kvänum Kök can be carried out even more efficiently and at a consistently high level of quality, the existing finishing line was to be equipped with new machines.

In addition to a brushing machine and a drying system, the spray painting machine also needed to be replaced. "The previous machine had been in use for 15 years and required more and more maintenance," says Andreas Persson, Project Manager at Kvänum Kök, describing the situation. And because, as Persson continues, the spraying machine is the heart of a painting line, the decision in favour of the VEN SPRAY COMFORT from Venjakob was preceded by intensive market research. The sister company Vedum Kök, which has already been using a Venjakob machine for some time, was asked in detail about the performance of the machine used. "Ultimately, it was the combination of good machine references, the recommendation of the paint manufacturer Sherwin Williams and the service offered by Venjakob's trading partner Jon Stenberg that tipped the scales in favour of investing in the VEN SPRAY COMFORT," says Persson.
Automation even for small batch sizes
The new spray painting machine is equipped with a modern colour management system that also enables quick colour changes of multi-component paints. The system is so flexible that it can also process smaller batch sizes that were previously spray-painted by hand. Persson sees this as a major advantage: "We can ensure the quality and reproducibility of the surfaces thanks to fixed settings in the machine."
Successful production start thanks to a well-trained team
Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the Kwänum Kök team, the Venjakob team and Jon Stenberg, who organised the order processing, it was possible to integrate the new spray painting machine into the overall system within the planned time frame. Production started immediately after the in-house training, as the trained team was able to build on many years of experience in handling spray painting machines.
Looking back, Andreas Persson says: "The decision in favour of the VEN SPRAY COMFORT was the right one. Day-to-day operations have shown that the required cleaning times have been reduced compared to before and we have been able to increase our productivity."
