Dip coating with Venjakob

Industrial dipping - a high-performance application technique

If you are looking for an effective coating, you will find it in industrial dipping with a Venjakob system. An application efficiency of almost 100 per cent speaks for itself. What's more, dip coating is one of the simplest and oldest processes - dip, let drip. Done. But dip coating is not quite that simple. Here too - as with any decision in favour of a coating process - it is crucial to coordinate all requirements. Just look: What suits the workpiece? What purpose should the coating fulfil? Is it about corrosion protection, environmental protection or both? Which material should be coated? Which colour, which coat, which processes offer the most advantages? At Venjakob, we take all these aspects into account. And we develop exactly the system that best suits your production - your processes, your products and the quantities you produce.

Our dip coating system is designed for the application of wet coating systems. With Venjakob dip coating, workpiece carriers with workpieces are dipped and not poured into a dip tank/drum as bulk material, as is usually the case. The workpieces to be coated are conveyed in a suspended position. Industrial dipping proves to be a powerful application technique, especially for complex 3D workpiece geometries.

What characterises system concepts and dipping systems from Venjakob

With our industrial dipping systems, you can coat your metals and steel parts easily and effectively. Industrial dipping also enables high throughput rates and good application efficiencies. A resource-saving, reuse of the dripped coating material is possible to a limited extent and depends, among other things, on the nature of the material used.

Our systems are of high quality construction. They are low-maintenance and offer high system availability. The size of the dip coating system depends on the coating material, the equipment, the workpiece size and the loading unit. The system can be loaded manually or automatically, depending on the upstream and downstream workpiece flow. Venjakob offers you a wide range of material handling technologies and conveyor systems from its own production programme for this purpose. Other system modules, such as dry coating technology or colour supply, can also be precisely tailored to your requirements.

From A for application to P for production process

Industrial dipping can be carried out with water-based or solvent-based coats. It is suitable for workpieces made of steel and metals, among others. The coatings are used to protect against corrosion or for decorative purposes. The coating process itself can be divided into feeding and conveying, dipping and dripping, flash-off after coating in industrial production, drying and cooling and finally removal. The advantages lie in the excellent quality and perfect coverage of the workpiece with a seamless coating film - even in the cavities.

Industrial dipping applications

  • Water-based paints
  • Solvent-based coats

Areas of application for industrial dipping

  • Steel parts
  • Metals parts

As a rule, these are functional coatings that serve as corrosion protection, for example, or decorative coatings that enhance the value of the workpiece.

Process description of industrial dipping:

  • Feeding with individual parts or parts on part carriers via a customised feeding device, a robot or manually.
  • Conveying with a chain conveyor or a customised conveyor system.
  • Dipping via movable dip tank.
  • Dripping and flash-off after coating in industrial production with return to the dip tank.
  • Drying in the integrated drying channel - adapted to the paint system.
  • Cooling in industrial coating lines Removal either via the feeding device or via a removal device, a robot or manually.

Filling controlled. This ensures that the same amount of coating material is always present. Depending on customer requirements, our systems for dip coating also have other features that allow the system operators to work with the technology without any worries. For example, the colour supply can optionally be equipped with a fill level indicator. It can also have an agitator that circulates the coating material to prevent the coat from settling. If it is necessary to prevent too much liquid from diffusing out of the coat with water-based coating materials, we can also remedy this by using the patented Coolac® technology.

Advantages of industrial dipping

  • Simple machine for high throughput
  • Application efficiency of almost 100%

Conclusion. Dip coating with Venjakob is certainly particularly effective

Parts, products and workpieces made of steel and metals are indeed dip-coated in many industrial sectors. Venjakob offers the systems for this, individually designed and customised to your requirements. Dip coating at its best. With almost 100 per cent application efficiency.

One final word: spraying is also possible. Or rolling. Ultimately, we will only decide which processes are actually the most suitable for your requirements when we talk to you. It is important to us that you get the processes, the solution that really works for you - and not the system that someone else recommends. These systems do not exist with us. We see solutions as individually designed systems. Based on freely configurable modules that can all be individually customised and adjusted. In the end, each of our customers has their own, unique Venjakob.
